About the Role
Our client, a critically acclaimed game development studio in Liverpool , is seeking a highly imaginative Senior Concept Artist to visually define their next generation of games. You will be responsible for creating compelling concept art for characters, environments, and props, establishing the visual foundation and aesthetic direction of the game world. Working collaboratively with art directors, designers, and other artists, you will translate ideas and scripts into striking visuals that inspire the development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to visually innovative projects within a vibrant and creative studio.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, vehicles, and props.
- Collaborate with art directors and game designers to establish and refine the visual style and tone of the game.
- Develop detailed visual guides and mood boards to communicate artistic vision to the wider team.
- Explore various artistic styles and approaches to solve visual design challenges.
- Incorporate feedback from team members and iterate on designs effectively.
- Mentor junior concept artists and contribute to establishing artistic standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Concept Artist in the video game industry.
- Exceptional artistic skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating versatility in style and subject matter.
- Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
- Understanding of form, perspective, colour theory, and composition.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, comfortable working in a hybrid model.
