About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and imaginative Senior Concept Artist to join their prestigious studio in Edinburgh . This role is crucial in establishing the visual foundation for new projects, translating creative briefs into compelling visual designs for characters, environments, and props. You will be instrumental in defining the aesthetic direction, working closely with directors and art leads to bring visions to life. The ideal candidate possesses a strong artistic foundation, a deep understanding of visual storytelling, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic creative team, producing stunning artwork that inspires and guides production.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and key moments based on project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with directors, art leads, and other stakeholders to develop and refine visual styles.
• Explore multiple design directions and iterate rapidly based on feedback.
• Maintain a strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, and composition.
• Develop visual targets that guide the 3D modeling, texturing, and animation teams.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Concept Artist , with a portfolio showcasing a strong range of artistic skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
• Strong understanding of traditional art fundamentals, including anatomy, perspective, lighting, and color theory.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate artistic ideas clearly.
• Experience in visual development for games, film, or animation is essential.
