About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Corporate Lawyer to join their dynamic legal team based in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves providing expert legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate transactions and governance matters. You will work closely with senior management, business units, and external counsel to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and facilitate strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial law and a proven track record in handling complex legal challenges within a demanding corporate environment, contributing significantly to the company's legal framework and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions, from due diligence to completion.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
- Provide guidance on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters, ensuring adherence to all relevant UK legislation.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration proceedings when necessary.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support strategic decision-making and risk assessment.
- Mentor junior legal professionals and foster a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law.
- Demonstrated experience in advising on complex corporate finance transactions and commercial agreements.
- In-depth knowledge of UK company law, contract law, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Membership in a relevant professional body is advantageous.
