About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly qualified and innovative Senior Cosmetic Chemist to join their fully remote research and development team, with strategic oversight from their base in Nottingham . This role is fundamental to driving product innovation by developing novel cosmetic formulations for skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics. You will leverage your extensive scientific knowledge and practical experience to create high-performance, safe, and stable products, working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring new beauty solutions to market. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize cosmetic formulations for a variety of product categories, ensuring efficacy, stability, and safety.
- Conduct in-depth research into new ingredients, technologies, and raw materials to drive product innovation.
- Perform comprehensive testing, including stability, compatibility, and performance evaluations, documenting all findings meticulously.
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs, product development, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product scale-up and commercialization.
- Troubleshoot formulation challenges and provide technical support throughout the product development process.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in cosmetic formulation and product development.
- In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, their functions, and regulatory requirements (e.g., INCI).
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, formulation software, and data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
