Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join their dedicated security operations team in Reading . This role is paramount in protecting the company's digital assets from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, detecting and responding to incidents, conducting threat analysis, and implementing preventative measures. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices, contributing to the resilience and security posture of the organization in a dynamic threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM and other security tools to detect and investigate potential threats.
• Respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and implement containment and eradication strategies.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security weaknesses.
• Develop and refine security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
• Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations and network designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, incident response, or security operations.
• Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) and security analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of common attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GSEC are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
