Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations across the UK, including for our team in Belfast . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions that protect our digital infrastructure. You will be at the forefront of identifying and mitigating sophisticated cyber threats, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems and data. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage robust cybersecurity solutions , including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
• Conduct in-depth threat analysis and vulnerability assessments, developing proactive strategies to counter emerging threats.
• Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery from security breaches.
• Develop and implement security automation and orchestration tools to improve efficiency and response times.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends , threats, and technologies to continuously enhance our defenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering and operations.
• Proven expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and experience with security frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills for a remote work environment.
