Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their dedicated security team in Leeds . This role is crucial for enhancing and defending the company's digital infrastructure against sophisticated cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge security solutions, actively participating in threat hunting, incident response, and the continuous improvement of security operations. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, a proactive security mindset, and the ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment, balancing on-site collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of security logs and threat intelligence to identify and respond to potential security incidents.
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, developing remediation plans.
• Develop and automate security processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure and development teams to ensure security best practices are implemented across all systems.
• Participate in incident response activities, including forensic analysis and post-incident reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, GCIH) are advantageous.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering, threat detection, and incident response.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and security tasks.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), cloud security, and security frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues effectively.
