Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to security operations and strategy for their global presence, including support for teams operating in Sheffield, South Yorkshire . This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining robust security systems and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge security solutions, automating security processes, and protecting the organization against sophisticated cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage advanced security solutions, including firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and cloud security tools.
• Develop and implement automated security workflows and scripts to improve efficiency and response times.
• Lead threat hunting activities and conduct deep-dive investigations into complex security incidents.
• Architect and implement security controls for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in security engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on system design and implementation.
• Expertise in cloud security architectures, network security, and infrastructure security.
• Strong proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).
• Deep understanding of threat intelligence, incident response, and forensic analysis.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills for a remote setting.
