Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations that have a presence in Sheffield . This role is critical for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling data-driven insights for the business. You will work with a variety of data sources and technologies to design, develop, and optimize data infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data warehousing, ETL processes, and a passion for working with large datasets in a distributed and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using ETL/ELT processes.
• Develop and manage data warehousing solutions to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
• Optimize data models and database performance for efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and provide support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong programming skills in Python or Scala, and experience with data pipeline orchestration tools.
