Senior Data Protection Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Protection Lawyer to join their dynamic legal team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK and contribute to a cutting-edge privacy practice. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through the complexities of data privacy regulations, including GDPR, advising on compliance strategies, risk assessments, and data breach management. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data protection law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to provide pragmatic, strategic advice to businesses navigating an increasingly regulated digital landscape within a remote-first organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on all aspects of data protection and privacy law.
• Develop and implement data privacy compliance programs and policies.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on mitigating risks.
• Manage and advise on data breach incidents and regulatory notifications.
• Oversee cross-border data transfer mechanisms and international privacy compliance.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial experience in data protection and privacy.
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR and other relevant global data privacy regulations.
• Proven experience advising on complex data privacy matters and conducting DPIAs.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting .
