Senior Data Protection Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Data Protection Lawyer to lead their privacy law practice, operating remotely from anywhere in the UK. This senior position involves providing strategic guidance on data privacy compliance, GDPR, and related legislation to a diverse client base, including major corporations and emerging tech companies. You will be at the forefront of evolving privacy landscapes, advising on data breach response, international data transfers, and privacy by design principles. Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on all aspects of data protection law , including GDPR, DPA 2018, and international privacy regulations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive data privacy compliance programs and policies.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on privacy risks associated with new projects and technologies.
• Manage data breach incidents, including investigation, notification, and remediation.
• Provide training and awareness programs on data privacy to client organisations.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes and provide proactive counsel on emerging privacy issues.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with extensive experience in data privacy and protection law .
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR and other global privacy frameworks.
• Experience advising on cross-border data transfers and international privacy compliance.
• Strong project management and client advisory skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a senior caseload effectively from a remote location.
