About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Protection Officer to lead their data privacy initiatives. Working in a fully remote capacity, you will develop and implement comprehensive data privacy strategies, advise stakeholders at all levels, and manage the company's data protection framework. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation's data protection strategy and policies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities and data subjects.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on privacy by design principles.
• Provide expert advice and training on data protection laws and best practices to staff across the organisation.
• Monitor compliance with data protection legislation and internal policies, conducting regular audits.
• Manage data breach response procedures and investigations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in data protection and privacy law, with a deep understanding of GDPR.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage complex privacy programs in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities related to privacy risks.
