About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Scientist with a specialization in Bioinformatics to join their fully remote research team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical models for the analysis of large-scale genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic data.
- Design and build robust data pipelines for efficient processing and management of complex biological datasets.
- Collaborate closely with research scientists to define analytical questions, interpret results, and guide experimental design.
- Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics , data science, and computational biology.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools and libraries for data analysis.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science, with a significant focus on bioinformatics applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and expertise in relevant libraries (e.g., SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, Bioconductor).
- Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Strong understanding of biological data types and common analysis methods.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in a remote team setting.
