Senior Data Scientist - Genomics

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist with a specialization in Genomics to join their advanced analytics team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to contribute to critical research from anywhere. You will be responsible for analyzing vast genomic datasets to extract actionable insights, identify patterns, and build predictive models that drive scientific discovery. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models for genomic data analysis.
• Process and analyze large-scale genomic datasets, including whole-genome, exome, and RNA-seq data.
• Collaborate with geneticists, biologists, and bioinformaticians to interpret findings and design new studies.
• Build data visualizations and reports to communicate complex results to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to the development of scalable data infrastructure and pipelines for genomic analysis.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on genomic data analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., PLINK, VCFtools, Ensembl).
• Strong understanding of statistical genetics and machine learning concepts, and excellent communication skills for a remote role.
