Senior Data Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Data Scientist to join their analytics team in Belfast . You will lead complex data analysis projects, develop predictive models, and leverage machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights that drive business strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of statistical modeling, data mining, and a passion for solving challenging problems with data. You will have the opportunity to work with large datasets, cutting-edge tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence key business decisions, combining office-based collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Design and conduct A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses and measure impact.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports and presentations.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the development of data science best practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science or a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R.
• Strong experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and statistical modeling techniques.
• Experience with data manipulation and querying languages like SQL and familiarity with big data technologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
