Senior Data Scientist

About the Role

Our client, a leading financial services firm located in Belfast , is seeking an accomplished Senior Data Scientist to join their innovative analytics team. You will be at the forefront of leveraging advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from complex datasets, driving strategic business decisions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business intelligence, to develop predictive models, design experiments, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deploy machine learning models and statistical algorithms to solve complex business problems.
• Perform data exploration, cleaning, and feature engineering on large, diverse datasets.
• Design and execute A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of initiatives.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and accessibility for analytical purposes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science or a related analytical role.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R, and associated libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy).
• Strong experience with SQL and working with large-scale databases.
• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying predictive models in a production environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
