About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Delivery Driver to join their logistics team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods to various destinations across the region. You will be responsible for more than just driving; you'll be a key point of contact for customer interactions at delivery points and a mentor to newer drivers, contributing to the overall efficiency and professionalism of the delivery service. Key Responsibilities

• Operate various delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure maximum efficiency and punctuality.
• Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring they are secured for transit and handled appropriately upon delivery.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients at delivery points, representing the company professionally.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior drivers, sharing best practices and ensuring adherence to standards.

Requirements

• Hold a valid UK driving license , appropriate for the vehicles operated (e.g., Category C+E for larger vehicles).
• Proven experience as a delivery driver, with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrable knowledge of route planning and navigation techniques.
• Excellent physical condition to handle loading and unloading tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
