About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their established IT team based in Milton Keynes . This is an on-site role, crucial for fostering close collaboration and rapid iteration within the development and operations teams. You will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our client's critical applications, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment, enjoys tackling complex infrastructure challenges, and is dedicated to driving efficiency through automation and robust operational practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS or Azure.
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance stability and efficiency.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with software developers to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with a strong emphasis on cloud environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Demonstrated experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and IaC tools (Terraform).
- Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
