About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dedicated IT infrastructure team based in Cardiff, Wales . This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our client's diverse technology environments. You will be at the forefront of implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure provisioning, and ensuring the smooth deployment of applications. Working closely with development and operations teams, you will foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, helping to build and maintain a robust and performant IT ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for cloud and on-premise environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with software development teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers and contribute to strategic infrastructure planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Administration role.
- Strong proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies.
- Solid understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a collaborative team setting.
