About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Drilling Engineer to join their onshore and offshore drilling operations based in Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK . This critical role involves planning, executing, and managing complex drilling operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing detailed drilling programs, managing rig operations, and overseeing all aspects of well construction. The successful candidate will play a key part in the company's operational success, driving innovation in drilling techniques and ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards for safety and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive drilling programs and operational plans, including contingency planning.
- Oversee rig site operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage drilling fluid programs, cementing operations, and casing design.
- Monitor drilling performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions in real-time.
- Procure and manage drilling equipment and services, optimizing costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Prepare post-well reports, analyzing performance and recommending improvements for future operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in drilling engineering, with extensive hands-on field experience.
- Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in drilling software for planning and execution.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
