About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join their team based in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role is vital for the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations across various projects. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling performance, while managing risks and adhering to strict environmental and safety standards. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to challenging drilling campaigns and influence operational strategies within the oil and gas sector, working with a dedicated and skilled engineering group.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive drilling programs and well plans, including casing design, cementing, and directional drilling strategies.
- Plan and execute drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost control.
- Manage drilling rig operations, including resource allocation and performance monitoring.
- Conduct post-well analysis to identify lessons learned and optimize future drilling activities.
- Oversee the procurement and management of drilling equipment and services.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering and operations.
- Proven experience in developing and executing complex drilling plans in various formations.
- Strong understanding of drilling fluid technology , cementing, and well control principles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.
