Senior Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drilling Engineer to join their operations in Coventry, West Midlands . This role is critical for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective planning and execution of drilling operations. You will be responsible for designing well plans, managing drilling projects, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive drilling programs and well plans, including casing, cementing, and trajectory design.
• Oversee daily drilling operations, monitor progress, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Manage drilling rig logistics, equipment, and personnel to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct pre-job safety reviews and ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Prepare post-well reports and conduct lessons learned sessions to inform future operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in drilling engineering , including offshore or challenging onshore environments.
• Proficiency with drilling software and well planning tools.
• Strong understanding of drilling fluids, cementation techniques, and well control principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with directional drilling and complex well construction is a plus.
