Senior Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations across various global energy projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling operations. You will leverage your expertise to plan, design, and manage complex drilling programs, ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive drilling programs , including well design, casing schemes, and cementing strategies.
• Perform detailed risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for drilling hazards such as kicks, stuck pipe, and lost circulation.
• Select appropriate drilling equipment, fluids, and techniques to optimize drilling performance and minimize non-productive time (NPT).
• Oversee the execution of drilling operations, providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise remotely.
• Manage drilling budgets and control costs effectively without compromising safety or operational integrity.
• Conduct post-drilling analysis and generate performance reports to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in drilling engineering , with a strong understanding of onshore and offshore operations.
• Proficiency in drilling software and planning tools (e.g., WellView, Landmark suite).
• In-depth knowledge of well control principles, directional drilling, and MWD/LWD operations.
• Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
