Senior Drilling Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to join their operations team in Stoke-on-Trent . This critical role involves overseeing and directing all drilling and completions activities for assigned wells, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget. You will be responsible for the technical integrity of the drilling program, managing rig operations, and coordinating with various service providers and onshore support teams. This is a key leadership position within the oil and gas exploration and production sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct drilling operations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring compliance with the drilling program and company standards.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify potential problems, and implement solutions to maintain efficient operations.
• Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Manage rig personnel, service companies, and contractors to ensure effective teamwork and performance.
• Approve necessary changes to the drilling plan and document all operational activities.
• Participate in post-well reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in drilling operations, with a significant portion in a supervisory or management role .
• Proven track record of safely and successfully managing complex drilling campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and associated risks.
• Familiarity with well control procedures and emergency response protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IWCF Level 4) are highly desirable for this role.
