Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting projects nationwide including their hub in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for developing innovative and reliable electrical systems for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. You will be responsible for leading design efforts, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the technical integrity of projects, all while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of a remote work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to project requirements, codes, and standards.
• Develop comprehensive electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and bills of materials using CAD software.
• Perform complex calculations including load analysis, short circuit studies, and voltage drop calculations.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines through virtual communication channels.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, providing technical support and feedback.
• Conduct technical reviews of designs, troubleshoot issues remotely, and propose effective solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering.
• Proven expertise in electrical system design for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and electrical design tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards (e.g., BS 7671), and best practices.
• Excellent remote collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
