About the Role
Our client, a leader in innovative electrical solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves conceptualizing, designing, and implementing complex electrical systems for a range of cutting-edge projects. You will play a key part in the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies through to final commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative spirit, contributing to a forward-thinking engineering environment that values precision and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Produce detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using industry-standard CAD software.
- Conduct thorough electrical load calculations , safety analyses, and risk assessments for proposed designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
- Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical installations, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical support to foster their professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design, with a proven track record in project delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical , EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.
- Strong understanding of relevant UK electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671) and international standards.
- Experience with power systems analysis, VFDs, and PLC programming is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
