Senior Electrical Engineer - Automation

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong focus on industrial automation to join their team in Sheffield . This role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of automated electrical systems for manufacturing and industrial processes. You will play a key part in enhancing efficiency, safety, and productivity through cutting-edge automation solutions. The hybrid nature of this role allows for a flexible work-life balance, combining remote work with essential on-site activities at client facilities and our office in Sheffield .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for automated machinery and processes.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs from leading manufacturers.
• Implement industrial networking solutions and ensure system integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and automation issues on-site and remotely.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and clients to define automation requirements and solutions.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with relevant safety standards and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical design.
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
• Experience with robotics , servo systems, and industrial communication protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites as required.
