Senior Electrical Engineer - Grid Integration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in grid integration to join their team in Nottingham . This crucial role involves ensuring the seamless and compliant connection of new energy projects, including renewables and storage, to the national grid. You will be responsible for technical studies, design reviews, and stakeholder liaison to facilitate successful grid connections. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of power systems, grid codes, and electrical engineering principles, coupled with strong project management capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee grid connection studies , including load flow, short circuit, and stability analyses.
• Review and approve electrical designs for generation and storage projects to ensure grid code compliance.
• Liaise with grid operators, regulatory bodies, and project developers on technical requirements.
• Develop specifications for electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to grid integration.
• Mentor junior electrical engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power systems and grid integration .
• In-depth knowledge of grid codes, connection standards, and relevant regulations.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP).
• Experience with renewable energy technologies (solar, wind) and energy storage systems.
• Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.
