Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Distribution

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design for power distribution networks, substations, and associated infrastructure.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for high and low voltage systems.
• Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination analysis.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and adherence to standards in the Reading area.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Substantial experience (7+ years) in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Expertise in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, DigSilent, ETAP) and design tools.
• In-depth knowledge of UK electrical standards, regulations, and grid codes.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead technical teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
