Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Distribution

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a specialization in power distribution to join their team in Brighton . This role is integral to designing, implementing, and maintaining the electrical infrastructure that powers our communities and industries. You will be responsible for complex projects, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the power grid. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems .
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications for substations and network infrastructure.
• Perform power system analysis, including load flow, fault studies, and protection coordination.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Proficiency with electrical design software and power system analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Strong understanding of power system protection, switchgear, transformers, and underground/overhead distribution networks.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
