About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their team in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role involves designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for various energy infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of power distribution and generation systems, working on cutting-edge projects within the renewable and traditional energy sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, and power distribution networks.
- Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
- Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and detailed electrical layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
- Collaborate with project managers, other engineering disciplines, and contractors.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues and recommend effective solutions.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in electrical engineering , with a focus on power systems.
- Strong knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DigSILENT PowerFactory).
- Experience with HV/MV equipment and protection schemes.
- Excellent understanding of electrical safety principles and regulations.
