About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their established operations in Edinburgh . This is a critical, site-based role focused on ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all electrical systems and equipment within their facilities. You will lead a team of maintenance engineers and technicians, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing proactive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and operational risks. This position demands a hands-on approach, strong leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical maintenance team, ensuring efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical assets.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults and failures across a range of industrial equipment and systems.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of high-voltage and low-voltage distribution systems, motors, generators, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to electrical maintenance activities.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for electrical maintenance operations.
Requirements
- HND/HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in industrial electrical maintenance, with a proven track record in a senior role.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution , motor controls, VFDs, and instrumentation.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for planning and tracking maintenance.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for electrical failures.
