Senior Electrical Power Engineer

Our client, a leading consultancy in the energy sector, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join their established team in Reading . Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and protection coordination studies.
• Design electrical distribution systems, substations, and associated equipment for industrial, commercial, and utility applications.
• Develop technical specifications, single-line diagrams, and equipment datasheets for electrical infrastructure projects.
• Review designs and calculations performed by junior engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Provide technical consultancy and support to clients, project teams, and regulatory bodies throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical power system engineering and design.
• Proficiency with industry-standard power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Strong understanding of electrical protection systems, equipment, and standards such as IEC and IEEE.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
