Senior Electrical Power Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join their expanding team in Sheffield . This role is central to the design, analysis, and implementation of complex power systems for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of power distribution networks, substations, and related infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer high and low voltage electrical power systems, including substations, switchgear, and distribution networks.
• Perform power system studies such as load flow, fault analysis, protection coordination, and transient stability analysis.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Provide technical oversight during the construction, testing, and commissioning phases of projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in power systems engineering.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT).
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, protection systems, and grid codes.
• Experience with renewable energy integration or industrial power distribution is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
