Senior Embedded Systems Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join their innovative team, working entirely remotely , with coordination efforts based near Reading . This critical role involves the design, development, and testing of embedded hardware and firmware for sophisticated electronic products. You will be responsible for architecting robust solutions, optimizing performance, and ensuring the reliability of systems that power next-generation technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded hardware, including schematic capture and PCB layout oversight.
• Write, debug, and optimize firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors using C/C++.
• Develop and implement low-level drivers and operating system components.
• Conduct system-level testing, integration, and validation of embedded systems.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers in a remote environment.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and firmware issues, providing effective solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in embedded systems design and firmware development.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming for embedded applications.
• In-depth knowledge of microcontroller architectures, peripherals, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
• Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and techniques.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication abilities suitable for remote work.
