About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Environment Artist to join their collaborative team in Sheffield . This hybrid role involves the creation of stunning and believable 3D environments that form the backbone of their engaging entertainment projects. You will be responsible for constructing detailed world-building assets, optimizing them for performance, and ensuring artistic coherence across all levels. Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D models, textures, and materials for environments, props, and architectural elements.
• Collaborate with the art director to establish and maintain the visual style and quality standards for environments.
• Optimize environment assets for performance, ensuring efficient polygon counts, texture memory, and loading times.
• Implement and light environments within game engines, ensuring they are visually appealing and technically sound.
• Work closely with technical artists to troubleshoot and resolve any art pipeline or asset integration issues.
• Contribute to the overall design and layout of game environments, ensuring they are both functional and aesthetically engaging.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as an Environment Artist in the game development or VFX industry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling, sculpting, and texturing software (e.g., Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Suite).
• Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, including level design and lighting.
• Strong understanding of architectural forms, composition, and material definition.
• Ability to create efficient and optimized assets for real-time rendering.
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional environment art and world-building skills.
