VFX Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly creative and technically proficient VFX Artist to join their prestigious Arts & Entertainment studio in Sheffield . You will be responsible for creating visually stunning special effects that bring cinematic moments and interactive experiences to life. This role is crucial for enhancing the realism, impact, and overall spectacle of our projects. Working within a collaborative environment, you will integrate seamlessly with the art and engineering teams to deliver breathtaking visual outcomes that captivate audiences and push the boundaries of digital artistry in the entertainment sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a wide range of visual effects, including explosions, magic, environmental effects, and particle systems.
• Develop and implement particle effects, shaders, and simulation techniques within the game engine or rendering pipeline.
• Collaborate with art directors and technical directors to define the visual style and technical execution of VFX.
• Optimize VFX assets for performance without compromising visual quality.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and techniques in the VFX industry.
• Troubleshoot and refine effects to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a VFX Artist or similar role in the game development or film industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing impressive visual effects work.
• Proficiency in VFX creation tools and software such as Houdini, Maya, Unity's VFX Graph, or Unreal Engine's Niagara.
• Strong understanding of particle systems, physics simulations, and shader programming.
• Experience with real-time rendering pipelines and optimization techniques.
• Excellent artistic eye for composition, timing, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, in-office team environment in Sheffield .
