Senior Event Manager - Sporting Events

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Event Manager to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh , specializing in large-scale sporting events. This role is critical within the Leisure & Sports sector, requiring a meticulous approach to planning, executing, and delivering unforgettable event experiences. You will be responsible for managing all facets of event logistics, from conception and budgeting to on-site execution and post-event analysis. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a portfolio of sporting events from inception to completion, ensuring seamless delivery.
• Develop detailed event budgets, manage expenditure, and ensure all events are delivered within financial parameters.
• Source and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders, negotiating contracts and service level agreements.
• Oversee event logistics, including venue management, staffing, ticketing, security, and operational requirements.
• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and promotional plans to drive attendance and engagement for events.
• Conduct post-event evaluations, gathering feedback and preparing detailed reports on event success and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in event management, with a strong focus on sporting events.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and tools.
• Demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the Leisure & Sports event landscape in Edinburgh .
