About the Role
Our client, a dynamic events company specializing in major sporting and cultural events, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Event Operations Manager to join their team in Bristol . This critical role will involve the end-to-end planning, management, and execution of operational logistics for a portfolio of high-profile events. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless delivery, managing budgets, coordinating diverse teams, and upholding the highest standards of safety and attendee experience. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational planning and execution of all assigned events, from initial concept through to post-event evaluation.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximum return on investment.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage external suppliers and contractors, including venue services, security, AV, and catering.
- Develop comprehensive event safety plans, risk assessments, and emergency procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Lead and coordinate on-site operational teams, including event staff, volunteers, and temporary personnel.
- Manage venue logistics, including layout planning, crowd management, traffic flow, and site setup/striking.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in event operations management, with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered large-scale events.
- Proven experience in budget management, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of event safety legislation, risk assessment, and emergency planning.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing circumstances.
