Senior Facilities Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to oversee the integrity and performance of their operational infrastructure in Portsmouth . This role is essential for managing the maintenance, inspection, and upgrades of production facilities, pipelines, and associated equipment within the Oil & Gas sector. You will work closely with operations, production, and project teams to ensure all facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. This is a hands-on, site-based position requiring a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, contributing directly to the smooth running of critical assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive maintenance and inspection programs for production facilities and equipment.
• Oversee the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide recommendations for facility upgrades and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Manage contracts with third-party service providers for maintenance and repair work.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment, piping systems, and instrumentation.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Proven ability to manage projects and contractors effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
