Senior Facilities Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to oversee the maintenance, operation, and development of their industrial facilities in Glasgow, Scotland, UK . This role demands a blend of technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and civil systems, alongside strong project management skills. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all site infrastructure, managing maintenance programs, and leading capital improvement projects. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, capable of managing diverse engineering challenges in a demanding industrial setting, contributing to seamless operations and long-term facility asset management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all facility systems.
• Manage major maintenance projects, including scope definition, budgeting, contractor selection, and execution.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of critical plant infrastructure, including utilities, HVAC, and structural components.
• Ensure all facility operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues related to facility systems and equipment.
• Manage budgets for facility maintenance and capital expenditure projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities engineering, plant engineering, or a related field, preferably within an industrial or energy sector.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale maintenance projects and capital works.
• Strong understanding of building systems, industrial equipment, and safety protocols.
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
