About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance department in Leicester . This pivotal role will involve overseeing the production of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. You will play a key role in driving improvements to financial processes and systems, working closely with a dedicated team of finance professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of corporate finance and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks within a commercial environment, contributing to the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP or IFRS.
- Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring efficient and accurate processing.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in financial reporting and management accounting.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements for companies operating under UK GAAP .
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of taxation , VAT, and other regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment, balancing independent work with collaboration.
