Senior Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance department based in Leicester . This pivotal role will involve overseeing crucial accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and contributing to strategic financial planning. You will be an integral part of a busy team, playing a key role in month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting the financial health and growth of the organisation. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Manage and oversee general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Lead the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing supporting documentation.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure financial compliance and minimize risk.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven post-qualification experience.
• Extensive knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in managing audits and implementing financial controls.
