Senior Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance department in Sheffield . This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all financial reporting, managing the month-end close process, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team to provide robust financial insights and maintain high standards of financial control. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and a proven ability to deliver accurate financial information in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis .
• Manage and support external audits, providing necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and controls.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
