Senior Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and astute Senior Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations for their expanding business in Birmingham . This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting and management information. You will lead a dedicated finance team, drive process improvements, and work closely with the executive team to provide strategic financial insights. This hybrid role offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing for effective team integration and focused individual work within the vibrant West Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide financial guidance and support to department heads and senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience (7+ years) in a senior financial control or management accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and UK accounting regulations.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in managing and mentoring a finance team.
