Senior Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and strategic Senior Financial Controller to oversee financial operations for their Leeds office. This role is critical for managing accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic business growth. You will be responsible for leading the finance team, driving process improvements, and providing insightful financial reporting to senior management. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing variance analysis and strategic financial guidance.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring smooth and efficient audits and tax filings.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Extensive experience (6+ years) in financial accounting and control, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Proven ability to manage and lead accounting teams effectively.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, SOX compliance , and internal control frameworks.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
