About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Financial Controller to lead their finance department in Portsmouth . This strategic position requires a strong background in financial management, accounting, and reporting, with a responsibility for overseeing all financial operations. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial planning, and treasury.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior financial management role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.
