Senior Financial Planning Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Financial Planning Manager to lead their financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function in Reading . This pivotal role involves overseeing the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes, providing critical insights to support strategic decision-making across the organisation. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and department heads to drive financial performance, identify key trends, and optimise resource allocation. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and a proactive approach to financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Develop and analyze long-range financial plans and scenario analyses.
• Prepare insightful financial reports and presentations for the executive team and board of directors.
• Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and advise on performance improvement strategies.
• Mentor and manage a team of financial analysts, fostering their professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and data analysis.
• Proficiency with financial planning software (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
