Senior Formulation Chemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Formulation Chemist to lead product development efforts in their innovative research facility located in Oxford . This role is crucial for designing, developing, and optimising complex formulations across various product lines, ensuring efficacy, stability, and manufacturability. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior chemists, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept to market. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation development of new and improved chemical products, from concept to commercialisation.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate formulation performance, stability, and compatibility.
• Troubleshoot formulation issues and identify root causes to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Conduct literature reviews and stay updated on industry trends and new technologies.
• Collaborate with analytical chemists, process engineers, and marketing teams to achieve project goals.
• Mentor and guide junior chemists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.

Requirements

• A Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in formulation development within a relevant industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, specialty chemicals).
• Deep understanding of physical chemistry, material science, and analytical techniques.
• Proven ability to manage complex formulation projects and lead technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity in developing innovative solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
