Senior Formulation Scientist - Drug Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Formulation Scientist to join their Drug Product Development team in Nottingham . This role is vital in developing innovative and robust formulations for novel pharmaceutical compounds, ensuring optimal drug delivery and stability. You will work on diverse projects, from early-stage formulation development to supporting late-stage manufacturing, collaborating closely with analytical, pre-formulation, and CMC teams. This hybrid position allows for hands-on laboratory work and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop various pharmaceutical dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, injectables, topicals).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substance properties relevant to formulation.
• Optimize formulations for stability, bioavailability, and manufacturability.
• Develop and execute stability studies according to ICH guidelines.
• Collaborate with analytical teams for method development and validation related to formulation analysis.

Requirements

• MSc or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Proven experience with various dosage forms and drug delivery systems.
• Strong understanding of physical chemistry principles, excipient science, and drug stability.
• Excellent knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
